About me
Tina Hill for Colac Otway Shire is dedicated to driving positive change within the community through advocacy, awareness, and action. Our mission is to create a more inclusive and sustainable future for all residents of Colac Otway Shire by addressing key issues and implementing impactful solutions.
Our Causes
Increased Access to affordable housing
Lessen financial struggles
I believe we have a housing crisis with the number of struggling families and numbers of homeless individuals in our shire, so it is crucial we work together to enable our community to increase access to housing and just as important if not more so but to make it more affordable for our community members to ease their financial struggles.
Improved roads
Better and more safe roads
I believe our roads need to have a more permanent fix than the temporary measures we have in place now. When it rains the pot holes become bigger and more dangerous for each time they are 'fixed so we need to work together to try and find a solution as we have had enough damage to our vehicles, and we need to feel safe on the roads.
Community Support
Building Stronger Communities
Supporting our community is essential for fostering solidarity and resilience. We provide assistance, resources, and programs to enhance the well-being and social cohesion of all residents in Colac Otway Shire. I believe we need more programs for our youth to keep them off the streets and stopping them from becoming bored and vandalising private and public property or worse.
We also need more social services for our elder residents as what we currently have, appear to either not be enough or as some residents have commented "they've been done over and over and are becoming boring, we need more stimulation and choices"
Community Advocates
Having a voice when we can't speak for ourselves
Not every individual can speak for themselves due to either not having a voice, having communication barriers of all levels or even feeling if they speak up, they either will be laughed at or not taken seriously.
Therefore i have heard many times over from the public, they would like someone they can trust and depend on to speak up for them especially at Council meetings and other forums and i have long been an advocate for many individuals through my years of experience in various fields and if I was elected I would do my best to be that voice for the community. I would be honest, genuine and uphold transparency as well as respect their privacy and confidentiality.
